I wish the plan to tear that whole plaza down to build a Super Stop and Shop with a gas stationg went through. That plaza is just trashy.

If memory serves there was a supermarket there ions ago, a Shaw's maybe where Burlington Coat currently is? All I recall is it smelled bad inside and was dirty. I wouldn't mind leveling the entire place, replacing the cement/ashalt with grass, fencing it in & make a dog park, a FREE park please. There's really no place in Braintree to safely let your dog off its lead (plus there's a leash law) to have a good run and play with other dogs. It could be a nice place to relax, visit with like-minded residents and enjoy well-behaved dogs. I don't even own a dog but wouldn't mind visiting a dog park just for the shear fun of being around dogs, enjoying some fresh air and maybe making some new friends, both two and four-legged. Just a thought...

I bet you are forgetting about the residents around the area. I know I wouldn't want to hear dogs barking across the street. Also the temple probably wouldn't like hearing dogs barking on Sundays.

I would love a few nice restaurants.

Jessica, if you've ever been to Stoddard dog park in Hingham or Bear Cove then you already know that very rarely do you hear dogs barking there. Even walking around places like Castle Island I hardly ever hear dogs barking. People make more noise than the dogs.

Sorry, Jessica. I didn't think there were abutters that close to the property. A line of tall shrubs could be planted to help any noise issues. I don't think dogs actually bark that much when they're running/playing. Kindly bear in mind I'm talking about well-behaved dogs and they don't, as a rule, bark incessently. My apologizes. As I said, it was just a thought. My finances are such that I can't afford to eat out/take out much these days and I think Braintree has just about enough restaurants. I've been looking for some free activities for adults in town.

Pond Meadow Park is a great place in town to walk your dog. Also the town was talking about turning the capped landfill into a giant park in the future, either that or retail, hopefully a park.
