Braintree Chamber of Commerce and Councilor Sean Powers Sponsor Small Business Resource Night.

The Braintree Chamber of Commerce with Councilor Sean Powers is hosting
representatives from the US Small Business Administration on Tuesday, August 27 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Thayer Public Library’s Logan Auditorium for an information work shop of federal programs for small businesses.

“The Braintree Chamber of Commerce is proud to be a sponsor of this event.  The information provided will be a great resource to any small business in the Braintree area and is part of the Braintree’s Chamber’s mission to assist businesses and help them grow,” Braintree Chamber of Commerce President Mike Wilcox said.

This FREE workshop will help small business owners gain a better understanding of the various SBA programs and services that are available to prospective or current entrepreneurs who need assistance in starting or expanding their businesses.

General information will be provided on the following programs and services, SCORE – Counselors to America’s Small Businesses, Small Business Development Centers, Women’s Business Centers, SBA Loan Guaranty Program, 8(a) Business Development Program, HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zones)
Program, Government Contracting Opportunities.

“Small businesses are the foundation for many local economies including Braintree.  Navigating with the federal government can be challenging so these resources are helpful in offering assistance and ensuring that our small businesses are successful” Councilor Sean Powers said.

The event is open to anyone that current operates a small business or is thinking of starting a small business.  Light refreshments will be served.
