Santa Arrives at South Shore Plaza This Friday

Santa’s ‘Elegant Garden’ is located this year in the Nordstrom Wing, Level 1.

With Halloween less than 24 hours in the rear view mirror and Thanksgiving still three weeks away, Christmas might seem like the distant future to some.

But not to all the children and families who will turn out starting Friday at the South Shore Plaza to see Santa and his "Elegant Garden."

Santa arrives on Friday and will be available in the Nordstrom wing on the first level during regular and extended mall hours through Monday, Dec. 24. Pose with the jolly guy and get a photo.

The Plaza is also ramping up its holiday decor – "new and modern" this year.

“The holiday season is a special time of year at South Shore Plaza,” said Vicki Bartkiewicz, Director of Mall Marketing at South Shore Plaza, said in a statment. “The mall has so many new stores and new amenities, and we’re thrilled about the new and timeless décor that fits right in along with Santa’s new ‘Elegant Garden’ location. The holidays can at times be hectic and we really want to make our shoppers’ experience as enjoyable as possible."

According to the mall, the 2012 holiday season at South Shore Plaza will bring distinct holiday décor enhancements to virtually every aspect of the Plaza and includes:

  • A magical-themed Santa photo set, ‘Elegant Garden’ designed by Canada-based Studio Artefacts. Santa’s ‘Elegant Garden’ will include a 20 foot Christmas tree, which is the perfect holiday addition while visiting with Santa and having a photo taken.
  • Shoppers will be delighted to find brilliantly lit interior and exterior garland and LED light curtains hanging throughout the Plaza on both the upper and lower levels.

I miss the old set up in front of Macy's. The one with the giant lighthouse and the plane that circles it. That was great. This years seems a little bit cheap.
