New Locally-Owned Cafe to Open in Braintree Square

The Braintree Board of License Commissioners approved a food license for the establishment earlier this week.

A local couple is opening a cafe next to Nanci's Barber Shop in Braintree Square that will offer coffee, tea, smoothies, breakfast food, a place to watch TV and Internet.

"It'll be a fun place to come in and relax," said Dorsey Connolly, who, along with his wife Katherine, is opening M&M Cafe at 25 Elm St.

The eatery will have a "soft opening" this Saturday, followed by a grand opening on Sunday, Nov. 4. Members of the Braintree Board of License Commissioners granted the Connollys a food license earlier this week.

The Connollys moved to Braintree 10 years ago. They live on Faulkner Place with their children Meghan and Michael – hence the "M&M."

Braintree lacks the sort of establishment the Connolly's envision, they said, and the location is perfect because of the through-traffic and also the parking both in a lot next to the building and out front. The cafe will seat 12 people.
