Less Than Two Weeks to Five Guys Burgers Braintree Opening

The eatery received a food license on Tuesday from the Braintree Board of License Commissioners.

The Braintree location of Five Guys Burgers and Fries is scheduled to open within the next two weeks, likely on Nov. 5, according to the franchise owner.

Sean E. Olson, whose company Five Olsons LLC runs seven restaurants in Norfolk County, told the Board of License Commissioners on Tuesday that he hopes to open by next Friday at the new Hyatt Place but will more than likely launch the following Monday.

"I'm looking forward to doing business in Braintree," he said.

Board members unanimously granted Five Olsons a common victualler license. Police Chief Russell Jenkins, new to his role as a commissioner, was absent on Tuesday.

Olson has been trying to get into Braintree for the past five years because the demographics line up well with Five Guys' offerings, he said. The location at 30-E Forbes Road will serve the typical Five Guys food and beverages, including a variety of burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches and french fries.

The eatery will seat 57 people and Olson said he would eventually likely to apply for an outdoor seating permit.

Other businesses going into the new Hyatt Place retail and restaurant plaza include Starbucks, Qdoba Mexican Grille, Jared Jewelers, The Vitamin Shoppe and JoS A. Bank.
