Landing Location Boosts Vacuum Shop's Business

South Shore Vacuum moved from Quincy to the Landing in 2011 and the owner says the business has grown substantially since then.

The large sign on the Braintree side of the Landing and an easy-entry parking lot have increased the profile of South Shore Vacuum and the large selection and quality service have helped the business grow.

Owner Matt DiPerri moved his store that sells and services a wide range of residential, commercial and central vacuums from Beach Street in Quincy to 22 Quincy Avenue in Braintree in September 2011. Since then, the business has expanded from eight employees to more than a dozen, as well as adding additional brands.

South Shore Vacuum is a certified warrantee center for Dyson, Electrolux, Eureka, Hoover, Miele and Royal. They also sell HEPA vacuums, vacuum cleaners, central vacuums, commercial vacuum and air purifiers.

The growing sales in-store have been paired with a budding online business. Customers can make purchases at southshorevacuum.com, but DiPerri said the site often helps with research.

"We have a lot of information," DiPerri said of the website.

Besides retail, DiPerri and his staff do full repairs. "Most of [the repairs are] here, but we do central vac service calls.
