One of the main attractions at the new Legoland Discovery Center Boston is sure to be the center’s “Miniland,” which features Lego-sized replicas of some of the Boston area’s most famous landmarks.

Three million Lego bricks were used to construct the mini city, which features Fenway Park, the Zakim Bridge, the State House, Bunker Hill Monument and much, much more.

The 44,000-square-foot Legoland Discovery Center Boston opens at Somerville’s Assembly Row on Friday, May 23. Tickets are already on sale.

In addition to the “Miniland,” the center has interactive rides, a 4D cinema and a variety of play areas, as well as a cafe and Lego store.

The center will be the 11th indoor Legoland Discovery Center in the world. There are also six outdoor Legoland parks, two in the United States, in California and Florida.

The center is intended for children ages 3-10; no adults will be allowed in without a child (except for on monthly adult nights).

Arlington is 5 miles from Somerville.

I'm confused by the Somerville Theatre. Is that the cinema in Davis Square? Is that how it used to look?

Yeah, I'm confused by the Somerville Theatre too. It doesn't look anything like the theatre and it's not on a corner like that.

Relevance to Arlington? This is a huge event in my book for the Boston area. My son would have loved this when he was a kid. His room was a mine field of Lego pieces. Now he gets to take his two kids. I'm thinking of going one of these days with them.
