CVS Pharmacy Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony This Weekend

The pharmacy is at the intersection of Washington and Church streets in North Braintree.

CVS/pharmacy will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Joseph Sullivan Sunday, Jan. 26 at noon to celebrate the opening of a store in North Braintree.

The CVS, replacing an older store on Independence Avenue in Quincy, is at 178 Washington St., at the intersection with Church Street and across from Archbishop Williams High School

The 12,900-square foot pharmacy features double-lane drive through window service, an expanded grocery offering and a digital photo café that provides customers with a dedicated, comfortable area to customize and print their digital pictures and order fun photo gifts, according to a press release.

The new CVS/pharmacy will open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. Pharmacy hours of operation will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

CVS is leasing the land from owners Greg and Michael Shea, whose family has operated automobile-related businesses there for decades, including South Shore Chrysler for many years, and then South Shore Auto Lines when Chrysler pulled out following the economic collapse in 2008.

Town councilors voted unanimously in November 2012 to approve re-zoning 9,677 square feet of Residence C land to General Business, allowing the project to move forward.
