Buffalo Wild Wings Coming to Braintree

The sports-focused restaurant will be at the South Shore Plaza.

Buffalo Wild Wings, the restaurant chain that caters to sports fans with numerous big screen TVs and specialty wing sauces, will open in Braintree sometime early next year.

The restaurant put on hold requests for all-alcohol and food licenses, scheduled to be heard by the Board of License Commissioners last Tuesday.

It did not specify the reason for the continuance, and no one from the company appeared at Town Hall, but Board Chair Joe Powers said they plan to open at the South Shore Plaza sometime in the early part of 2014.

A restaurant is also opening in Mansfield, according to Buffalo Wild Wings job postings.

Buffalo Wild Wings is a publicly-traded company headquartered in Minneapolis. It will hit 1,000 restaurants in the first quarter of 2014, according to a company press release announcing third quarter 2013 financial information.

In 2014, the company plans to open "45 company-owned and 40 franchised locations in the United States and Canada, and we expect our international franchisees to open at least 10 restaurants across the globe," the release said.
