On more than one occasion, Murray’s Deli has saved my family from starving. Serving up barroom-style pizza, club sandwiches, salads and calzones, we can each order dinner from Murray’s and be happy with our selection. Located at the corner of Elm and Washington streets in Braintree Square, Murray’s does a steady lunch and dinner business, and they deliver.
If you’re in the mood for a more traditional dinner offerings, Murray serves up a Turkey or Roast Beef dinner, complete with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and gravy. Grilled Chicken, Steak Tips, and various incarnations of chicken fingers and wings are also available. Dinners are served with your choice or coleslaw or potato salad and fries, onion rings, or rice. Prices start at $6.75. Pasta dishes include Chicken, Veal or Eggplant Parm, Chicken Broccoli and Ziti, and Chicken Cacciatore and served with ziti or spaghetti and garlic bread.
On many occasions, we have ordered the barroom-style pizzas for large family gatherings. Smaller in size (although Murray’s does serve a larger size) we order a multiple of toppings so everyone gets a taste. Some of our favorites include sausage (served with sausage slices rather than more typical chunks), pepper and onion, and mushrooms. Other toppings include salami, linguicia, buffalo chicken, and bacon. Murray’s also makes a nice calzone. My son loves the buffalo chicken, and at $9.25 it is big enough for multiple servings.

Sandwiches and salads round out the menu. The wraps start at $5.25 and are served with coleslaw or potato salad. The club sandwiches ($7.25) are served with your choice of french fries or onion rings. The oversized deli sandwiches include corned beef, roast beef, Genoa salami and cheese, and turkey, among others. Prices start at $4.50 and come with your choice of cole slaw or potato salad.
