$90M Sale Involving Braintree Rehab Hospital Goes Through

The 166-bed hospital is on Pond Street in Braintree.

Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital and New England Rehabilitation Hospital in Woburn have been sold to a Texas-based firm for $90 million.

Reliant Hospital Partners LLC, specializing in outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation and health care operations, recently purchased the 166-bed Braintree hospital and 168-bed Woburn hospital, the Boston Globe reported Thursday.

Senior Housing Properties Trust, a real estate investment trust that owns independent and assisted living communities, medical office buildings, nursing homes and wellness centers located throughout the United States, sold the hospitals to a joint venture comprised of affiliates of the Sanders Trust of Birmingham, AL and Harrison Street Real Estate Capital of Chicago.

The trust bought Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital and New England Rehabilitation Hospital in 2002.
