O'Callaghan Spurs Wamps to 1-1 Draw with Needham

Senior Co-Captain Sinead O'Callaghan drilled a penalty kick home in first half action to spur the Lady Wamps to a well-deserved 1-1 draw against defending Bay State Carey Champions Needham High School.

Despite injuries that sidelined defensive stalwarts Jen Guen and O'Callahan for a large portion of the second half, the Wamps withstood tremendous pressure from Needham, only allowing the equaliser late in the second half.

O'Callaghan's eventual return helped buttress the Wamp back line and close out the game. The girls yet again impressed against one of the state's best squads. On the heels of two tightly fought (and narrow losses) to the Massachusetts #2 and 6 ranked teams (Newton North and Dedham respectively), the Wamps continue to gel and look poised to push through the middle of their schedule and drive toward post season play.

The Braintree High School Girls record now stands at 3-2-2 heading into a weekend Homecoming tilt with Plymouth South at Alumni Field on Saturday September 28.
