MDSC 2nd Annual Buddy Walk by the Sea

The Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress will host its 2nd Annual Buddy Walk by the Sea in Falmouth, MA on Saturday, July 28, 2012.  The MDSC’s Buddy Walk Program is the state’s largest public awareness platform to promote acceptance and inclusion of all children and adults with Down syndrome.  People who fundraise for and participate in Buddy Walk events support all MDSC programs and services that provide hope to new and expectant parents, training to medical professionals and students, tools to educators, opportunities for self-advocates, a strong voice on Capitol Hill, and resources on all topics related to Down syndrome for anyone who needs it.

The MDSC invites you to join in on the fun at this year’s Buddy Walk by the Sea, a seaside celebration to promote acceptance and inclusion in the South Shore, Cape, and Island communities! The Elbows will take the stage with their fun loving music for all ages.  Smitty’s Homemade Ice Cream, a Falmouth favorite, will provide a post-walk treat.  Local disability organizations will provide resources and information to those who are interested.  Don’t miss the chance to win amazing raffle and silent auction items including New Balance sneakers and Boston Harbor Cruise tickets!  Go to www.mdsc.kintera.org/bwbythesea2012 to sign up today!  Registration includes walk festivities, event t-shirt, and light refreshments.
