Road Work Starting in Highlands, Cedar Street Area

Braintree residents in these areas should be aware of parking restrictions.

Mayor Joseph Sullivan's 100 Roads Program comes to the Highlands neighborhood and Cedar Street area this week.

The mayor sent phone notifications to selected residents Monday informing them about the projects that start Tuesday, Aug. 27.

The following streets will be affected:

  • Charles Street, Lowell Street, Park Street, Haven Road, School Street and both sections of Pleasant Street
  • Waldron Road, Hill View Road, Wampatuck Road, Plymouth Road and both sections of Beals Road
Starting Tuesday morning, "No cars should be parked on the street weekdays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m" until the streets are completed, Sullivan said in his message to both neighborhoods.

For the Cedar Street area, the mayor added, "Rain may cause delays, but the work is imminent.  Please relay this to any others who may be driving to or from your house to avoid problems.  We thank you for your patience and understanding."

And for Highlands he said, "The road will be ground up edge to edge, excavated and re-shaped, compacted and then re-paved.  The process will take up to three weeks. Please relay this to any others who may be driving to or from your house to avoid problems.  We thank you for your patience and understanding."
