Raffle Established to Raise Money for Ford Family

Two local business owners started a raffle that will run from Thanksgiving Eve until Christmas Eve to benefit the Ford Family, who lost their home in Braintree earlier this week to a fire.

Alex Kesaris, owner of the Braintree Brewhouse, and Anthony Holmes, owner of Holmes Auto Detailing in Hanover, will provide two raffle winners with packages worth $750 each. Tickets will begin selling Wednesday at the two businesses for $10 each.

All of the proceeds will go to the Fords.

No one in the family was injured during the Monday morning blaze. A firefighter suffered minor injuries after slipping on ice. The home, originally built by Habitat for Humanity, sustained $300,000 in damages to the structure and property, including a car and truck that were in the driveway.

"Let's help this loving family get back on their feet," Holmes and Kesaris said in a flyer for the raffle, attached to this article above.

Tickets can be purchased from Wednesday, Nov. 27 through Monday, Dec. 23 at Holmes Auto Detailing at 2110 Washington St. in Hanover and at the Braintree Brewhouse at 703 Granite St. in Braintree.

Winners will be selected Christmas Eve and notified by phone and Facebook. They do not have to be present that day to win.

There are two packages in the raffle that both contain the following:

One complete detailing for a car/SUV valued at $250.

Four express details (wash, wheels and tires cleaned and dressed, windows and door jambs cleaned, interior vacuum, dash and console cleaned and dressed). Valued at $400, must be the same vehicle over the course of 2014.

One $100 gift certificate to the Braintree Brewhouse.

Meanwhile, an online fundraising campaign set up for the family had pulled in nearly $16,000 by Wednesday morning.
