Plaque Dedicated for 10th Anniversary 9/11 Committee on Braintree Town Mall

Wednesday marked the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

A plaque unveiled Wednesday morning on the Braintree Town Hall Mall across from the fire station honors those who contributed to the 10th anniversary 9/11 ceremony in Braintree two years ago.

That remembrance involved the planting of 3,000 flags on the mall, commemorating the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Hundreds then turned out on Sept. 11, 2011 in front of Town Hall for a ceremony.

Members of the 9/11 committee and the local chapter of the AARP have their names engraved on the plaque, presented by Sandy Duffy, who spearheaded the 10th anniversary effort, and Mayor Joseph Sullivan.
