High Winds Expected in Braintree Area Monday Afternoon

Watch out for high winds Monday afternoon and evening.

Wind gusts up to 45 mph and steady winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected in much of the region Monday afternoon and evening, including Braintree.

The National Weather Service issued a Wind Advisory Monday that is in effect until 8 p.m. this evening. The strongest winds are expected during the mid to late afternoon. 

Wind of this speed may down small trees and limbs and could cause power outages, according to the NWS. 

Showers and thunderstorms will likely move into the region late Monday and into the evening. 

"THE LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IS EXPECTED TO WEAKEN AS ITMOVES EAST INTO THE BOSTON TO PROVIDENCE CORRIDOR EARLY THIS EVENING. BRIEF GUSTY WINDS AND HEAVY DOWNPOURS WILL ACCOMPANY THE FRONT," the NWS said.
