Forecasters Watching for Wet Snow Possibility on Wednesday
The weather pattern setting up for Wednesday has been known to bring in some early-season wet snow flakes.
A cold front that will move in on Wednesday will deliver the first dose of truly fall-like weather this year, according to WHDH-TV channel 7 meteorologist Jeremy Reiner, with a slight chance of wet snow.
Yes, that’s right, Reiner said in a blog post Monday morning that similar weather patterns to the one setting up for Wednesday has produced wet snow in the past.
“I'm not saying this will happen but rather something that we will watch during the day on Wednesday,” he wrote.
What will surely happen is that temperatures will drop from the 50s into the 40s on Wednesday with light rain hanging around most of the day, he said.

“It should be noted that in scenarios, like the one on Wednesday, can and have produced some light wet snow - case in point Sunday Oct. 18, 2009 - it snowed across much of SE Mass.,” he wrote.
Any precipitation should end by the first pitch of game 1 of the World Series at Fenway Park, Reiner said.

The National Weather Service, meanwhile, is calling for rain on Wednesday afternoon with a low temperature of 38 degrees. AndAccuweather is forecasting a low temperature of 36 degrees on Wednesday with rain.
