Flash Floods a Concern for Area Through Wednesday

Make sure your sump pumps are on; flash floods are on the way.

Flash flooding is possible across of most of Southern New England through Wednesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch in effect from 8 p.m. on Monday evening through Wednesday afternoon for Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. This means multiple waves of showers and thunderstorms will move across southern New England through Wednesday, with the first happening on Monday evening.

The greatest risk of flooding, said the Weather Service, is late Tuesday into Wednesday, with rainfalls ranging between 2-4 inches.
