Braintree Shows Support for Abington Marine

The body of Marine Sgt. Daniel Vasselian returned home to Abington Tuesday.

Braintree residents and police and fire personnel lined the Elm Street overpass Tuesday to show support for U.S. Marine Sgt. Daniel Vasselian, 27 of Abington, who died in combat in Afghanistan on Dec. 23.

His body was brought from Logan Airport to Abington on Dec. 31. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Jan. 2 at St. Bridget Church in Abington followed by burial at Mount Vernon Cemetery, according to the Boston Globe.
