Braintree Dog Lover Files Petition with Craigslist

Do you think we should have the right to sell pets on Craigslist?

By Tony Catinella

After "Puppy Doe" was euthanized in Weymouth hours after being found brutally beaten in a Quincy playground, dog lovers are petitioning against pet sales on Craigslist.

Puppy Doe was sold by her original owner on Craigslist before being tortured by an unknown new owner, according to the Boston Herald.

Now, one local woman hopes no dog will be sold again into an unsafe home.

Joyel Ennis of  Braintree sent a petition to Craigslist’s CEO, Jim Buckmaster asking him to remove Pet sales on the site.  The petition was signed by Dog lovers across America from California to North Dakota to Texas.

“I’ve tested the Craigslist platform since this horrendous incident and there are no warnings whatsoever on the ‘Pets’ section about the dangers of posting these re-homing ads,” Ennis wrote in the petition

A similar petition was submitted to Buckmaster by PETA.
