5 Things: Town Council, Sunset Lake Concert Series

A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Braintree on July 16, 2013.

1. The Town Council meets at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Town Hall. The agenda includes a proposed medical marijuana moratorium, a request for a bond to purchase trash and recycling receptacles and a same night action request to appoint Dr. Arthur Bregoli to the Board of Health.

2. Prior to the council meeting, the Committee on Ways & Means will meet in the auditorium at 6:15 p.m. on the following items, which will then go before the full council at 7:30 p.m.:

  • Appropriation from Community Preservation Fund – John Adams Memorial Plaza - First Congregational Church 13 026 
  • Mayor: Appropriation from Community Preservation Fund – Elm Street Cemetery
  • Councilor Clifford: Discussion – Capital Improvement Plan (CIP)
3. The Sunset Lake Concert Series continues this evening with a performance by PAUL AGNEW & JOHN CAPAVELLA with FRIENDS from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

4. The Housing Authority meets at 7:30 p.m. at 25 Roosevelt St. Click here for the agenda.

5. Thayer Public Library hosts "Teen Publishing Workshop With Author Kate Burak" from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. this evening in the Logan Auditorium. 

"Teens ages 12-18 are invited to meet Kate Burak, Edgar Award nominated author of the young adult novel, Emily's Dress and Other Missing Things, for a behind-the-scenes look at the publishing process and a discussion of how teens can publish their own writing. No registration required."
