Boston (March 24, 2014) Haymakers for Hope, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is proud to announce its fourth annual “Haymakers for Hope Rock ‘n Rumble” boxing charity event taking place at the House of Blues® Boston on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 6:30 p.m.

Twenty-eight courageous men and women throughout Boston and Greater Boston will compete in boxing matches during the night to help raise money for cancer research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Haymakers for Hope’s mission is to knockout cancer the only way they know how, by literally fighting for a cure. Some participants are fighting for loved ones who have been struck with the disease, and some are fighting for overcoming cancer themselves. Whatever the individual fight, all train together in small groups at partnering boxing gyms.

“We’re exceptionally proud of this year’s group of participants,” said Co-Founder Andrew Myerson. “Our fighters are getting to the gym four or five days a week, and we’ve been hearing a lot of stories of team training, even with their opponent. Our local boxing gyms have done a phenomenal job of building a sense of camaraderie amongst this special group and embracing the Haymakers for Hope mantra that not every fight ends at the bell.”
