UPDATE: Town Council on Hockey Rink, Tax Break, Street Acceptance

5 Things: A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Braintree on Jan. 21, 2014.

1.
The Town Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall Tuesday evening.

Among the agenda items: a Braintree Youth Hockey ice rink discussion, a request for a property tax break from Haemonetics, a street acceptance request from Elmlawn Road Extension and council committee appointments.

2. The Flaherty School Council meets at 6 p.m. in the media center.

3. Thayer Public Library hosts the Bookkeepers Teen Book Club from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Young Adult Room. 

"Join the library’s teen book club! We meet once a month for games, informal discussion, and lots of book-related fun. Rather than reading the same book as a group, each month members bring a book they’ve recently read to share. 
"Compare notes with other readers, learn about the newest teen books, and leave with great book recommendations.

"For teens ages 12-17. New members welcome and there will be ice cream!"


4. Chance of snow Tuesday after 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Otherwise mostly cloudy, high of 18 degrees. Tuesday night snow accumulating 2-4 inches late.

5. Share your sports photos, fundraising events, dance videos – anything at all related to Braintree High School on our open blog for the school.
