Town Council Meeting, Computer Lessons at Thayer Library

5 Things: A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Braintree on Oct. 1, 2013.

1. The Town Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. The agenda includes a request from National Grid for work at 648 Commercial St.

The DPW Committee meets at 7 p.m.

2. Thayer Public Library hosts Computer Series Session I from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the computer area on the lower level.

"Whether you are new to computers or just want to use them more effectively, this series of three sessions will get you on your way. Participants will learn how to navigate their way around an Internet Web page, use various ways to select options that are common to Web pages, cut and paste, enter search terms, and fill in on-line forms. Learn the basics of saving files and printing and find out what various types of software can do for you. There will be an introduction to the Internet and using Search Engines. Participants must have a basic familiarity with using a keyboard and mouse.

"Registering for Session I signs you up for all 3 sessions: Tuesday 10/1, Wednesday 10/2, and Thursday 10/3 at 7:00pm. Space is limited. Participants may register by using the Registration button here, or at the Reference desk on the lower level, or by calling the library at 781-848-0405 ext. 4417."

3. There is a Quebec trip meeting at South Middle School at 6:45 p.m.
