Teen Drawing Group, Use Patch's Local Election Open Blog

5 Things: A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Braintree on Oct. 10, 2013.

1. Thayer Public Library hosts a Teen Afterschool Drawing Group from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Young Adult Room Thursday.

"Love to draw? Want to meet other teen artists and work on your skills? Come to the library afterschool and bring your sketchbook. We’ll have plenty of art supplies available to help you create a new art project, or just hang out, draw, and spend time with friends in a relaxed atmosphere.

"This is a drop-in program that runs for 4 weeks and participants may come to one or all of the meetings. We meet in the Young Adult Room on the library's lower level. No registration required. For teens 12-17 only please."

2. Add your information to our open blog for the upcoming local election. Share information on stand-outs, coffee events, fundraisers and whatever else the community should know.

3. Braintree High School is chock full of meetings today: 

The PTO meets at 6 p.m. in the Media Center, followed by the The 2014 All Night Grad Party committee at 6:30 p.m.

Grade 9 orientation is in the auditorium at 7 p.m.

There is a meeting for parents of students going on the Washington, DC and New York City trip at 6:30 p.m. in the Media Center.

4. Activities today at the Senior Center on Cleveland Avenue include: 

9:00 Chess

9:30 Chair Yoga

10:00 Photography

5. Thayer Library also hosts Scrabble from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the lower level Thursday evening.
