Pickup Automated Waste Barrels Saturday, Teen Creative Writing

5 Things: A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Braintree on Oct. 11, 2013.

1. Braintree residents who have yet to receive their automated waste barrels can pick them up Saturday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Transfer Station on Ivory Street. 

Bring your paid reciept or cancelled check to the attendant who will assist in loading the carts in your vehicle. 

2. Thayer Public Library hosts the Teen Creative Writing Group from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Logan Auditorium. 

"Teens ages 12-17 are invited to the library's monthly creative writing program. We'll focus on developing ideas, finding inspiration, and how to get published. Plus meet other writers. No registration required."

3. Today underclassmen at Braintree High School can participate in photo re-takes. 

4.  Add your information to our open blog for the upcoming local election. Share information on stand-outs, coffee events, fundraisers and whatever else the community should know.

5. Friday is a day for layering. There is a 40 percent chance of rain before 1 p.m., and an expected high of 63 degrees with cloudy skies and winds around 10 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight should be mostly cloudy with a low around 52.
