1. Mayor Joseph Sullivan, the Braintree Recreation Department and the East Braintree Civic Association present its summer concert at Smith Beach located on Vinedale Road in East Braintree this evening.
The concert features live musical entertainment of Jumpin’ Juba from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. With Steve Hurl on guitar and vocals, Bruce Ward on piano, Brian Flan on drums, Jumpin’ Juba plays blues mixed with many flavors of American “roots” music.
2.Thayer Public Library hosts "Hockey Kids age 5-11" from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. "Are you a kid that loves HOCKEY? Did you know the Boston Bruins are one of the sponsors of the "Dig into Reading" Summer Reading Program? Hang out with other hockey fans for some Bruins trivia, and hear the short tale of a hockey hero "Number four, Bobby Orr." Tell who your favorite Bruins player is and how many games you think they'll win next year. Get the list of books that the Bruins players recommend for kids. For hockey fans age 5 - 11.
