Discussion: Creating a More Peaceful Society at Thayer Library, Town Council

5 Things: A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Braintree on Nov. 19, 2013.

1. The Town Council meets at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Town Hall. Agenda items include the year's property tax classification shift, Community Preservation Act funding for restoring the town's Civil War statue, and various supplemental approprations.

Also, the Committee on Ways & Means meets at 6 p.m. and Public Works at 7 p.m.

2. Thayer Public Library hosts "Creating a more peaceful society" from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Logan Auditorium.

"Lecture and discussion on creating a more peaceful society. The United States is the most violent developed country in the world. WHY?

"What part of the problem lies with the environment? What part lies with the antisocial individual? ...."


3. The Special Education Parent Advisory Council meets at 11:45 a.m. in the Office of Special Services at Braintree High School. Click here for a complete agenda

4. Wear your sunglasses, but also your winter coat. It should be sunny but with a high only approaching 46 degrees today, according to the National Weather Service. Clear with a low around 27 degrees Tuesday night.
