Braintree's Haunted House Begins, Teen After School Drawing at Thayer Library

5 Things: A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Braintree on Oct. 24, 2013.

1. Braintree's Haunted House starts Thursday with a "not-so-scary" night from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the warehouse in the RMV plaza on Plain Street. More on the haunted house in this Patch article.

2. Thayer Public Library hosts a Teen Afterschool Drawing Group from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Young Adult Room.

"Love to draw? Want to meet other teen artists and work on your skills? Come to the library afterschool and bring your sketchbook. We’ll have plenty of art supplies available to help you create a new art project, or just hang out, draw, and spend time with friends in a relaxed atmosphere.

"This is a drop-in program and participants may come to one or all of the meetings. We meet in the Young Adult Room on the library's lower level. No registration required. For teens 12-17 only."


3. The Board of Health meets at 7 p.m. in the upstairs Johnson Chambers at Town Hall.

4. Definitely dress in layers today. The high is only around 54 degrees, though it will be partly sunny, with wind gusts reaching 29 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight partly cloudy, low around 36.
