Braintree Tree Lighting, Estate Planning Workshop

5 Things: A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Braintree on Dec. 5, 2013.

1. Mayor Joseph Sullivan is inviting residents of all ages to join him for the annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony held at Braintree Town Hall Thursday, Dec. 5. 

Residents are invited to come to the Cahill auditorium at 4 p.m. for hot chocolate and Christmas carols. The hot chocolate is being provided this year by the Quincy Credit Union. At 4:45 p.m., guests will be invited outside to witness to lights on the Christmas tree being switched on for the first time this season. 

2. Thayer Public Library hosts "Estate Planning Essentials" from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Logan Auditorium.

"Join Attorney Robert Romano at 10 am to discuss estate and Medicaid planning issues that affect all families. All estate planning issues will be discussed with emphasis on how to protect your assets. Workshop is free and open to all.

3. The Conservation Commission meets at 7 p.m. in the upstairs Johnson Chambers at Town Hall. Click here for the full agenda.

4. There is a chance of showers late morning Thursday with a high around 52 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight cloudy, rainy, low around 47.
