UPDATE: Braintree Students Back in School, Swearing-in Rescheduled

5 Things: A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Braintree on Jan. 2, 2014.

1. Members of the Town Council and new School Committee members will be sworn-in Tuesday evening, Jan. 7 during the 7:30 p.m. meeting in the auditorium at Town Hall

Originally scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 2, the swearing-in was rescheduled earlier this week because of the threat of a strong winter storm.

2. UPDATE:  SCHOOL HAS BEEN CANCELLED THROUGH MONDAY. Braintree Public Schools students return to school today. 

3. Remember: trash pickup is pushed forward one day this week because of the New Year's Day holiday on Wednesday.

4. On this day in 2008, Mayor Joseph Sullivan was sworn in as Braintree's first mayor after the shift in the form of town government. Share your memories in our Town Square section
