2. Braintree High sports Friday:

  • Girls Soccer will travel to Brockton, 2:30 pm start time

  •  Boys Soccer will host Attleboro at Braintree High School, 4 pm start time

  •  Football will host Durfee at Braintree High School, 6:30 pm start time

3. Activities today at the Senior Center on Cleveland Avenue include:

9:15 Exercise Class 
10:00 Weight Loss Group 
11:00 Tai Chi Class and Library van ride 
12:00 Pool Players 
1:00 Women’s Poker 

4. Warming up today, but showers possible before 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Look out for wind gusts as high as 50 miles per hour, temps as high as 69 degrees. Partly cloudy Friday night, low around 50.

5. On this day in 1765, the Stamp Act went into effect, causing widespread anger among American colonists, and spurring Braintree's own John Adams to deliver the Braintree Instructions, stirring revolution early on.
