Young Woman From Braintree Features in 'Legally Blonde' By Boston Children's Theatre

What do you get when you combine the extraordinary talents of 16-year old year old Rachel Padell of Braintree, with one tiny Chihuahua, and a Boxer named Rufus? The musical comedy hit of the summer season- LEGALLY BLONDE at Boston Children’s Theatre (BCT)! LEGALLY BLONDE will be performed by students ages 14 – 19 on August 2, 4 and 5 at The Governor’s Academy in Byfield, MA.
Playing the role of ‘Vivienne Kensington,’ Rachel was last seen in BCT’s World Premiere production of “Reflections of a Rock Lobster.” Rachel has also appeared on the BCT stage in the new musical “Calvin’s Monster,” “Little Women,” and “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Rachel will be a senior this Fall at Archbishop Williams High School.
“The energy in this production is infectious,” reveals BCT Executive Producer Toby Schine, who is also directing LEGALLY BLONDE. “With choreography by Carl Rajotte, the Artistic Director of the Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH, the cast is having a blast on stage. It’s the perfect musical to showcase the vast musical comedy talents of our students.”

Nominated for 7 TonyÒAwards, LEGALLY BLONDE was written by Heather Hach with music and lyrics by Lawrence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin. This high energy, leave the theater humming musical is directed by BCT Executive Producer Toby Schine with choreography by Carl Rajotte, Artistic Director of the Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH.
LEGALLY BLONDE will be performed at The Governor’s Academy, 1 Elm Street, Byfield, MA. Performances are Thursday, August 2 at 8 pm; Saturday, August 4 at 8 pm and Sunday, August 5 at 2 pm. Tickets are $25 and $20 for adults and $15 and $10 for students. LEGALLY BLONDE is performed in rotation with BCT’s production of MISS SAIGON.
