Women With Infants Allegedly Steal More Than $2,300 from Macy's, Sears

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Two 21-year-old women from Weymouth and Brockton were arrested by Braintree police last Friday after they allegedly shoplifted thousands of dollars in merchandise at the South Shore Plaza by placing items in their strollers.

Both strollers, containing infant children, were allegedly used to bring clothing, cologne and pocketbooks worth more than $2,300 to a vehicle in the Plaza parking lot, Deputy Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

Alexandra E. Calixte, 21, of Weymouth and Linky M. Myrthil, 21, of Brockton, were charged with two counts each of larceny over $250.

Loss prevention at Macy's saw the women take the items and bring them out to the car parked nearby, Jenkins said. Officers confronted the women and later found the merchandise – more than $1,600 worth from Sears and $600 from Macy's.
