What Did You Think of Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick's DNC Speech?

The Massachusetts governor had delegates on their feet Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, but did his speech resonate with you? Let us know by posting a comment below.

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick came out firing Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, attacking his predecessor Mitt Romney's record in the Bay State.

"Mitt Romney talkes a lot about all the things he's fixed," he said. "I can tell you that Massachusetts wasn't one of them. He's a fine fellow and a great salesman, but as governor he was more interested in having the job than doing it."

By the end of his speech, which touched on President Barack Obama's first-term accomplishments, the economy, role of government and the American Dream, Patrick had the packed crowd of delegates on their feet and in a frenzy, but we want to know:

How did Patrick's speech play here? Were you a fan of the governor's remarks? Or did his words fall on deaf ears? Let us know by posting a comment below.

It was fantastic. Thought it would be the best of the night until Michelle Obama spoke.

Not a fan of his comments. Very hypocritical from a guy who has used his title to help sell books he has written. Also, he is just as guilty for not fixing a lot in this state!

Minny Me (Austin Powers) came out criticizing Romney and Ryan as all the democratic delegates did. How about why the democrats took out completely any referance to God in their platform and also removed Jerusalim as the capital of Israel. Go see the movie 2016 and you may better understand.

You just got to love his quote "democrats need to grow a backbone". Sounds funny coming from a guy that is soft on welfare fraud, illegals and crime amongst a host of other things. He makes jellyfish look like manhole covers. All of his promises were all lies. Property tax relief???? Consolidation of the Mass Highway depts. would equal huge savings???? Not one lay layoff nor any savings. So done with guy and his cronies.

My thoughts exactly! He should grow a backbone before he tells other people to.

Anyone or any party who can leave God out of anything is to be pitied. It is un-American and the most foolish thing any REAL American could do. God help this Country if this party stays in control for another 4 years.

@Gracie There is NO PLACE for religion in GOVERNMENT! GOD IS AN INDIVIDUAL AND PRIVATE MATTER! Don't be silly, Gracie. Read a little about our Founding Fathers. Educate yourself, please oh please!! What foolishness~

In the tribue to Teddy, there was no mention of Mary Jo? It is part of his legacy, how he got away with it..... Any pictures of Marylnn? you know that bomb shell that mysterisouly died because she was with RFK and JFK......... Ah the Kennedys.... so proud...........For the party that is trying to pull the women vote, showing a Kennedy is probably not the best move.........Just think of the Wives.... and their torment.....

The general pattern in Patrick’s speech is that he overreached in trying to indict Romney’s record but generally told the truth when bragging about his own. ENOUGH SAID

I thought he was kind to mitt, He didn't mention the 1000 fee's mitt raised or instituted,
He even charged the blind 10 bucks to prove their blind he didn't mention mitt using the state police as secret service men, while he traveled the country, running for president at a big cost to the mass tax payer, he didn't mention health care that mitt wants to get rid of, because of the big donations from atna and blue cross, for those of you with a short memory, his record is on the internet just look it up, question is you know he robbed us as governor, do you really want him robbing us as president, maybe the word rob is too strong, lets say he used our taxpayer money inappropiately, not to mention he was responsible for 14500 less police, firefighter,s and teachers, how exactly doe's that relate to creating job's, would you like to talk about the crime rate, it skyrocketed. I thought deval's speach was a lot nicer than it could have been, go back and look at how much money, he cost the avarage bizman in fees. he's pro biz, not unless you own an oil company or big ins company .you have to admitt he's a great salesman. me I vote my wallet and he took money out of it .I don't forget.

Mercifully I missed it; I watched SVU reruns. I heard that Dukakis was also supposed to speak at the DNC; what a joke. Two incompetent midgets, two empty suits. They make a good pair.

Did Deval "Cadillac" Patrick talk about how much he earned helping Countrywide Mortgage rob people blind & the subprime mortgage fiasco? Did he explain how he had time, as Governor, to write & tour to promote a book? Did he discuss his $12,000 damask drapes as part of a $27,000 renovation of his office at taxpayer expense, hiring a chief of staff for his wife & attempts to help a controversial mortgage company that had been accused of predatory lending? Somehow, I think he skipped over just some of his "accomplishments".

I thought he gave a fantastic speech. I had forgotten what a great speaker he can be. We cannot expect any politician to do everything we wish them to do. We elect humans, not gods.
I do not believe any reference to any particular person's perception of their God has any place in our political discourse. The early settlers in this country came to escape a state sponsored religion and we should not be encouraging any of it. Love of country includes love of our freedoms, including freedom from any particular religion. Remember individual rights and freedoms.
It is discouraging to read and know how many people are being taken in by right wing , bombastic, opinions.
