As someone who has his iPhone attached to his hand, I would rather stay connected than get 5% off.

I'd rather spend that time connected to the one I'm with, so yes, I'll ditch the phone for the discount. Sick of seeing people messing around on their phones all through dinner.

Yes, I would love the discount. I feel like real social engagement on the face-to-face level is so under valued these days - perhaps to a dysfunctional level!

As it is, I do my best *not* to use my phone when dining out with friends and family so a 5% discount is a great incentive to hit the power button rather than simply (which is sometimes easier said then done) ignore the phone. :)

House Rule: No phones at the table. Very few exceptions. That includes restaurants.

boy if anyone could only remember before cell phones hit and they were attached everywhere you went, i can remember going out to eat or a movie and you could actually have a conversation with the one or ones your eating with, the movies, well you could follow the whole movie instead of hearing, "what happened, i was on the phone" oh well the times they are changing, if i go out i either turn the volumn low or vibrate, i would rather enjoy myself when i'm at a restaurant and have conversation, the phone will be there when you step outside, try it sometime you will be amazed at how great it is to have a whole conversation without the phones ringing, the other week i went out to eat, shut off my phone while we were sitting there i said to my hubby, look around, look at how many people are on their phones, it was amazing, i guess when you go out now instead of talking to the one your with you spend the majority of the time speaking to who knows who and ignoring the one your with...

Good for them - I'll take the discount. Looking at a cell phone screen during a presentation or concert is heckling - looking at it during dinner is just rude.

Ahem, folks.....where are those phones going to be while you dine? I'd gladly shut mine off but I will not let it be in anyone elses possession. That's just asking for trouble. The chance of it being damaged to savvy crooks that can get into anything and steal info.

I will turn it off, but not hand it to anyone else. It would be too easy for another person to access information stored in the phone.

Without the interuption of the cell phone ringing, I'd be able to enjoy a converstation with my dinnermates.

There is a time and place for cell phones, and it is not in restaurants, checkout lines of stores, or while driving.

How about a tax for those who use them at the table. 40% would work........

i should get a discount for not grabbing the cell phone out of the hand of the person who lets them ring while i am having dinner..
