South Middle School Students to Perform Broadway Classic at End of April

There are three performances – April 27 at 7 p.m. and April 28 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m

The students of South Middle School proudly present Guys and Dolls, Jr., a
Broadway musical comedy classic on Friday, April 27 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 28 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Set in New York City, the musical brings to life colorful characters originally created by acclaimed Prohibition-era author Damon Runyan. There’s Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight mission worker and Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and falls in love. Nightclub performer, Adelaide, suffers from a chronic flu brought on by her lengthy engagement to devoted fiancé, Nathan Detroit, who is always on the lookout for a spot for his infamous floating dice game.

Written by Abe Burrows and featuring the music and lyrics of Frank Loesser
including the timeless classics, “A Bushel and A Peck,” and “Luck Be a Lady,” Guys and Dolls, Jr. is being directed by South Middle School’s music teacher, Matthew Sawtelle, and choreographed by Elyse Hager.

Tickets are available first come, first served. For information, go to the South
