Police Investigating Fatal Rollover Crash on Route 3 in Braintree Monday Night
The accident happened at 7:15 p.m. and sent all five people in the vehicle to the hospital, with one woman dying from her injuries, state police said.
The cause of a crash on Route 3 in Braintree that resulted in the death of one woman and the injury of four others remains under investigation on Tuesday by the Massachusetts State Police.
Five occupants involved in a roll-over accident on the northbound side of the highway were sent to South Shore Hospital and Boston Medical Center Monday night, according to police media relations.
"The female operator, considered to have the worst injuries at the time of the crash, was later pronounced deceased at Boston Medical Center," the police said. "We will not be releasing the identity of the female operator pending next of kin notification per State Police Policy."
State police on scene Monday night were assisted by the Braintree Police Department, Braintree Fire and EMS, and Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
Crime scene investigators are analyzing and reconstructing the accident, which happened at 7:15 p.m.
