Pinkberry Moves into Braintree at the South Shore Plaza
The yogurt shop is the 6th in Massachusetts.
A regional Pinkberry franchisee is opening its seventh yogurt shop in the area next month at the South Shore Plaza, across from the Disney Store.
NE Frog Pond LLC, which operates Pinkberries in Hingham, Wellesley and West Hartford, CT, among other places, received a food license from the Board of License Commissioners on Tuesday afternoon, clearing the way for an estimated Dec. 20 opening.
"We think it will be great," Frog Pond CEO Trippe Lonian said of the Plaza location. "The mall has been a great community gathering place."
Pinkberry was created in West Hollywood, CA in 2005. It focuses on fresh, high-quality ingredients and is known for its unique yogurt flavors, such as Pomegranate, Mango and Green Tea. In Braintree, Pinkberry will take over the former Swarovski Crystals store on the first floor of the Plaza.
On Tuesday, the board also voted to extend New Year's Eve liquor serving hours from 1 a.m. until 2 am. and approved the annual renewals of most Class I, II and II auto licenses, pending proof of worker's compensation insurance and bonds for some. Several others have yet to file application renewals.
