Burglary, Malicious Damage Charges Dismissed in Pearl Street Break-in Case

Steven D. Hoxie, 40, of 25 Mt. Ida Road, Dorchester, had charges of malicious destruction of property over $250 and felony daytime breaking and entering while placing a person in fear dismissed in Quincy District Court.

The charges stem from a March 13 incident in Braintree at 10:47 p.m. when police were dispatched to a Pearl Street residence for a report of a burglary. The victim alleged to have been awakended by a loud crashing sound and that she then saw a man in the hallway walking toward her.

The man then allegedly said to the victim, "I'm sorry," turned around, and ran out the front door, police said in the incident report.
