Braintree man faces drug possession charge

Patrick J. Egan, 47, of 120 Stetson St., Braintree, was arraigned in Quincy District Court on a charge of possession of a Class E drug. The case was continued to Sept. 26. Egan was released on personal recognizance. The charge stems from a Oct. 1, 2011 incident in Weymouth at 2:20 p.m. when police responded to a report of a domestic assault and the alleged assailant reportedly fled on a small scooter. Police found the scooter parked on Lambert Avenue and Egan was later apprehended, pat frisked, and found in possession of a bag containing several Suboxone pills and a bag containing blue pills, according to police.

OUI case continued to October

Jonathan P. Hanson, 21, of 62 Hill View Road, Braintree, had charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and failure to wear a seatbelt continued to Oct. 3 in Quincy District Court. The charge stems from a Aug. 6, 2011 incident in Quincy at 12:20 a.m. as state police were conducting a field sobriety checkpoint on Quincy Shore Drive. Officers directed Hanson, driving a Buick Lesabre, to the screening area after they noticed signs of possible impairment by the driver. Police conducted field sobriety tests and arrested Hanson on suspicion of being drunk.

Court throws out assault and battery charge

Navid Montamedi, 32, of 501 Commerce Drive, Apt. 304, Braintree, had a charge of assault and battery dismissed in Quincy District Court. The charge stems from a June 18, 2011 incident in Braintree at 2 a.m. when police responded to a report of a domestic assault and battery.

Milton man faces jury on assault and battery charge

James E. Hazelton III, 56, of 5 Mark Lane, Milton, was given pretrial probation until July 16, 2013 in Quincy District Court on a charge of assault and battery. The charge stems from a March 28 incident in Braintree at 11:55 p.m. when police responded to an abandoned 911 call at 27 Packard Drive. There, police found the alleged victim bleeding from the lip, but the victim refused to tell police what had happened during an argument. A judge instructed Hazelton not to abuse the victim and not to have any more arrests.

Breaking and entering case continued

Alexander Andrade, 23, of 31 Burman St., Mattapan, had a charge of daytime breaking and entering into a building continued to Oct. 15 for a hearing in Quincy District Court. The charge stems from a May 4, 2011 incident in Milton at 12:10 p.m. when a police officer observed two suspicious looking men standing on the sidewalk in front of a residence on Blue Hills Parkway. The officer conducted a further investigation and found an open to the residence and what appeared to be household items knocked over inside a room. The back door was unlocked, according to police.
