The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 35-year-old Quincy man was arrested by Braintree police after allegedly driving drunk near the Union Street rotary and sitting through several light signal changes.

Timothy M. Akins was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol after the incident shortly after midnight on Saturday, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

"Officers located Akins stopped at the traffic lights at the intersection of Union Street and Grossman Drive and observed him sitting at the lights through several cycles of red to green," Jenkins said. "Upon approaching Akins, the officers made observations of possible intoxication and requested that he submit to several sobriety tests."
