Driver Allegedly Drunk Wednesday Afternoon, Arrested by Braintree Police

The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A motorist in Braintree called police at about 1 p.m. last Wednesday when they saw another driver operating erratically and striking a curb.

That driver – James Coen, 49, of Braintree – was later arrested by Braintree police and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, Deputy Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.

Coen, driving a red Dodge Durango, allegedly struck a curb near Logan Drive and was pulled over at Logan and Middle Street. Officers on the scene made observations that Coen was intoxicated, Jenkins said, and saw that the left front tire of the SUV was flat.

He was placed under arrest after refusing sobriety tests.
