Designated Lookout Doesn't Workout for Alleged Cologne Thieves
The following information was supplied by the Braintree Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Two Dorchester men were arrested at the South Shore Plaza last week after they allegedly tried to steal two bottles of cologne from Hollister.
The men – Johnny Hippolite, 30, and Gerald E. Blain, 35, both of Dorchester – allegedly stole more than $400 worth of merchandise as well, Chief Russell Jenkins said in a statement.
They were accompanied by an unknown woman who could not be located.
Loss prevention at the Plaza told police they saw the two men trying to steal the cologne, with one of them working as a lookout.
Hippolite and Blain were both charged with shoplifting from Hollister and receiving stolen property over $250 from Macy’s.
