5 Things: School Committee, Commission on Disabilities

A run-down of events and other useful information for your life in Braintree on March 4, 2014.

The United States presidential inauguration used to fall dominantly on March 4, before the ratification of the 20th amendment changed the date to late January.

1. The School Committee meets at 7 p.m. at the Colbert School on Pond Street this evening. The agenda includes an update on full-day kindergarten and on the fiscal year 2014 budget.

2. The Commission on Disabilities meets at 7 p.m. in the upstairs Johnson Chambers at Town Hall.

3. Thayer Public Library hosts Monday Night Craft Series: Art Deco Stained Glass for teens and adults from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Logan Auditorium.

"Celebrate One Braintree, One Book, and the art of The Great Gatsby, by making faux Art Deco stained glass. Art Deco refers to the period of art from 1925-1940 that was heavily influenced by archaeological expeditions which led to the discoveries of ancient Egyptian and Aztec forms."

5. Activities today at the Senior Center on Cleveland Avenue include:
