1. The Town Council meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. and will likely vote on whether to confirm Mayor Joseph Sullivan's selection of Russell Jenkins as the police chief.

Earlier, at 6:30 p.m., the Committee on Ordinance & Rules will consider accepting Stone Crest Drive as a public way. Also, at 7 p.m., the full council will meet shortly to send the police chief request to committee, which will then send it back to the council at 7:30 p.m. This will allow councilors to follow charter rules and still confirm the chief with "same night action" – unless one councilor objects.

2. Thayer Public Library is hosting a College Planning Workshop from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. in the Logan Auditorium. It is also hosting a Teen Advisory Group from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Young Adult Room.

For more information on both, go to http://www.eventkeeper.com/code/events.cfm?curOrg=THAYER.
